My Daughter the Social Butterfly

Due to fun times in Soup-land, Baby Soup has been experiencing the wonders of DAY CARE yesterday and today.  Which, definitely hurt me more than it did her.  That’s why Mr. Soup was being a stay-at-home dad!  To not have to deal with the EVILS of handing your child over to someone else to raise!  Because ZOMG it’s HORRIBLE!  Like FORMULA!  And DISPOSABLE DIAPERS!  (please note the INTENSE LEVEL OF SARCASM!)

Honestly though?  I wish we could afford to do it every day.  She has been in HEAVEN!  Because BABIES!  And KIDS!  AND BABIES!

Ethan18Months-9

My daughter, the social butterfly, has always loved other kids.  She got a baby doll for Christmas and immediately loved on it and kissed it and would tuck it in.  At 11 months old.  If a baby cries on a TV show or in person, she’ll scrunch up her little face and make a little whining sound and want to fix it.  Seeing a kid of any age in the grocery store or any other public place is considered a GOLD MINE!  She will point and make her “ooo ooo” sound.  It’s the cutest thing ever.

Baby Kisses

So to go to a house that has MULTIPLE children to play with?  Total piece of heaven.  She hasn’t wanted to give me a kiss goodbye or do anything.  This morning, I dropped her off and she went straight over to the baby who was laying on the floor, sat down cross-legged and just stared, pointing and giggling while making her noises.

It’ll be interesting to see how she is when I come pick her up today.  But at least she took a nap!  BY HERSELF!  Without nursing or a bottle or being rocked.  It’s a red letter day, y’all.
